Est. 1 September 2006
Twenty years, one studio.
Based in Wollongong with clients across Sydney and the rest of the country, Shipwreck Studio is built around coder and CTO Rick Moore and a team of specialists in design, print, web, SEO, social, mobile apps and server engineering. We meet in person in the CBD office, at yours, or on Zoom every day of the week.
The thing we are proudest of is not the size of the portfolio. It is that the businesses we built for in our first year are still with us.

Highly recommend these guys if you want a site that actually works and a team that makes it enjoyable along the way.

How it works
Four steps from first call to launch day.
-
Talk
A conversation about what the business needs, not a questionnaire. We quote from that.
-
Design
Strategy, content and design worked up together so the site is built to convert, not decorated afterwards.
-
Build
Coded by our own developers on our own hosting, with on-page SEO, tracking and forms done properly from day one.
-
Launch and look after
We host it, back it up, keep it secure and keep improving it. Most of our clients have been with us for years.

Questions we get asked first
What does a website from Shipwreck Studio cost?
An entry-level small business site typically starts around $7.7k. Sites with specific or custom requirements usually land between $16.5k and $55k, and large database-driven platforms run from $100k. Our pricing guide lists the typical figures and the hourly rates for smaller jobs.
Do you only work with businesses in Wollongong and Sydney?
No. Most of our clients are in the Illawarra and Sydney, where we meet in person, but we work daily on Zoom with businesses across Australia and overseas.
Can you host and maintain a site you did not build?
Yes. Our managed hosting and Small Business Care Plan cover sites built elsewhere, after a security and performance audit. We migrate the site to our Australian servers for free.
Do you do SEO as well as the build?
Yes, and that combination is the point. The people doing your SEO are the people who built the site, so technical fixes, speed work and content changes actually happen instead of sitting in a report.
How do I get started?
Send a few lines through the form on this page or call (02) 8005 8088. Rick or one of the team will come back to you within a business day to talk through the brief.
Ready when you are.
Tell us about the project, or call the studio. We work in person in Wollongong and Sydney, and on Zoom with everyone else.
