What CMS Is This? platform detector

Tells you whether a site runs WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow or one of sixty other platforms, which page builder and hosting it uses, and the clues it used to decide.

Tip: include https:// if you have it. The tool follows redirects and reads the headers and source of the page it lands on.

How it works

How the detector works

Our server fetches the address you enter, follows redirects to the page that actually answers, and builds one body of evidence from the response headers and the first 600 KB of HTML. Every platform fingerprint is scored against it: required strings, any-of strings, patterns, and a weight that lets a more specific platform (WooCommerce) win over its parent (WordPress). The highest total wins and the score becomes a confidence band.

What it can identify

  • Content management systems: WordPress with its theme, plugins and page builder (Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder, WPBakery, Oxygen, Bricks), Joomla, Drupal, Ghost, Craft, Statamic, Kirby, TYPO3, Umbraco, Kentico, Sitecore, Adobe Experience Manager, SharePoint, Concrete CMS, Bitrix, Odoo, HubSpot CMS and the headless trio Contentful, Sanity and Storyblok.
  • Ecommerce: Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento and Adobe Commerce, BigCommerce, PrestaShop, OpenCart, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Ecwid.
  • Hosted builders and funnels: Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Duda, Weebly, GoDaddy, Framer, Carrd, Bubble, Tilda, Jimdo, Strikingly, Webnode, Hostinger, Kajabi, ClickFunnels, GoHighLevel, Leadpages, Unbounce, Instapage, Blogger, Tumblr, Medium, Substack.
  • Frameworks and static builds: Next.js, Gatsby, Nuxt, Astro, SvelteKit, Angular, Hugo, Jekyll, Docusaurus, Laravel, Django, Rails, ASP.NET, with the hosting or CDN read from the headers (Cloudflare, Vercel, Netlify, Fastly, CloudFront, Kinsta, WP Engine and more).

Analytics and marketing tags are listed too, with a link straight into Tag Explorer for the full tree.

What CMS Is This questions

What CMS is this website using?

Enter the website address and the detector reads the page’s response headers and source, matches them against fingerprints for more than sixty platforms, and tells you the platform, its confidence, and the exact clues it used.

Can you detect custom or white-label platforms?

Often, yes. White-label builders such as GoHighLevel, Duda and ClickFunnels leave distinctive asset hosts and markup even when the branding is hidden. When a site is hand-coded or headless, the tool says so and still shows the framework, hosting and tracking clues it found.

Is this CMS checker free?

Yes. There is no signup, no ads and no limit beyond a soft rate cap that stops scripts hammering it. We built it for our own audits and opened it up.

Why do some tools fail to detect platforms?

Most detectors look for a single tell, such as a generator meta tag, which many sites strip. This one scores dozens of signals per platform across headers and source, follows redirects to the real page, and reports a Cloudflare bot challenge honestly instead of guessing.

Why does it list a theme and plugins for WordPress?

WordPress loads theme and plugin assets from predictable paths, so we can read the theme folder name and any plugins that put a file into the page. Server-side-only plugins leave no trace in the HTML, so the list is a floor, not a ceiling.
